In honor of our grandson, Mason Palmour, who at 16 years old, was diagnosed with Grade 4 Glioblastoma in November 2021. Keep fighting little man!
In early October 2021, he was enjoying the weekend, like a normal 16 year old, after playing his high school football game. He started experiencing some twitching in his right pinky toe. By Sunday he was losing the ability to control his right foot. That night he felt a sharp pain in his head and noticed he was losing control of his right leg. He began to lose strength in his right arm as well.
An x-ray showed that Mason had a large mass in his brain. An MRI showed Mason had a large blood clot in the left side of his brain. Mason was admitted for three weeks and was given a countless number of tests to figure out where this clot came from. Every doctor was stumped and no conclusion was ever found.
On Nov 24 after another bad headache, Mason was readmitted for another MRI, which showed that he had a tumor that had grown and was now visible from the blood clot. At 4:00 am, Thanksgiving morning, Mason became unresponsive. He was then rushed in for emergency surgery to remove the bone flap so the brain could swell out and relieve the pressure.
Mason was kept sedated for three days and was then taken back in for surgery to remove the tumor. The surgery went well, but his brain needed rest. The diagnosis was a Grade 4 Glioblastoma which would require radiation and chemotherapy for the next 6 weeks.
Mason’s parents searched for alternative treatments including Immunotherapy. He is currently under the care of the Burzynski Clinic in Houston as well as being evaluated for CyberKnife radiation.
We are forever grateful to all of those that have stuck by our side, donated, helped make fundraising possible and most of all that are constantly praying for Mason.

Sadly, Mason passed away on June 10, 2023.
